Selection

· BFE has chosen for all application to use the same quality requirement and it was decided to use the highest hazard category, category III.
BFE Initial Condition
· High volume 0.5”-48” Gate, Globe and Check manufacture.
· Certified ISO 9001 quality system.
· ASME Classes 150-4500.
· API Classes 2000-10000.
· Bolted, welded products and pressure seal.
· Combination valves.
· Strainers.
· ASTM and DIN forging, casting and bar materials.
· Spacer spools.
· Ball Valves.
Product Category Summary
· 0.5”-1”(DN15-25) sound practice engineering (S.P.E).
· 1.1/4” - 48”(DN32-1200) fall in Category II.
· Cat. I or II with an “unstable gas” becomes Cat. III.
· For 1.1/4”,1.1/2”, 2", 2.1/2", 48”(DN32-1200) Category III, CE marked has been chosen.
Current Situation
· Audit route selected module H, category III valves.
· NOBO selected was DNV (No. 0496).
· DNV certificate No. CE PED.12.0064.04/1560.6.
Marking and identification
· Each valve and strainer is identified on proper name plate and on valve body as required by MSS-SP 25, B16.34.
· Name plate carries all information on rating, size, valve body and trim material.
· On body, marking includes material designations (per ASTM) and heat symbol, size, rating and of course the trade mark.
· Globe and check valves are supplementary marked with an arrow indicating flow direction.
